What Longafter does
Everything in one place.
Nothing forgotten.
01
The life storyYour complete life story, written for you
This is the heart of Longafter. From your conversations, we write a complete, literary life story of your life — chapter by chapter, in beautiful prose. A real keepsake you can read, hold onto, and share with your children and grandchildren. The story of you, told properly, for the first time.
02
Voice recordingYour stories, told in your own voice
Longafter asks the questions your family wishes they had asked. Answer by speaking or typing — and once you've shared a memory, you can record yourself telling it aloud. So your family doesn't just read your words. They hear them.
03
Family sharingA living archive & life map
Every conversation becomes part of a growing archive your family can read. See the shape of your life take form — a timeline of your stories, the people who matter, the places that made you. Your family can read along and leave comments.
04
AES-256 encryptedA vault for what matters
Where your will is kept, your executor and power of attorney, your funeral wishes, and the key people your family will need to reach — a solicitor, an accountant, a trusted friend. Encrypted and private, and gathered into a handover pack you can pass to your executor when the time comes.
The keepsake
Imagine reading the
whole story of your life.
Most lives are never written down. The details fade, the stories get lost, and one day no one is left who remembers. Longafter changes that. Through honest, in-depth conversations, we write your complete life story — a real, literary life story, organised into chapters, told the way it actually happened.
It's yours to read for the quiet pleasure of seeing your own life take shape on the page. And it's yours to share — with your children, your grandchildren, the people who will want to know who you were, long after.
Chapter IV
The House on
Beaumont Street
The kitchen was always the warmest room in the house, and not only because of the wood stove that my mother kept burning from autumn through to spring.
It was where we gathered, where decisions were made, where the radio played on Sunday afternoons while the smell of lamb stew filled the rooms.
There were six of us sharing four bedrooms, and nobody thought anything of it. The verandah ran the full width of the house.

Start with a few conversations. The life story is there when you're ready.
The family tree
Add someone to the tree,
and we'll ask about them.
Remembered a grandmother halfway through a story? Add her to the family tree in a moment — no forms, just a name and how she fits in. Next time you talk, Longafter will ask about her too, so the people who mattered end up in the story, not just the ones we happened to think of first.

New — voice recordings
Let them hear you tell it.
Once you have shared a memory, you can record yourself reading it aloud. Your family doesn't just read your words on a screen — they hear your voice telling the story. The cadence, the warmth, the way you laugh at a detail. The things that can't be captured in text alone.
Each recording lives alongside its story in your archive, ready for your family to hear whenever they visit — years from now, or long after you are gone.
Here is a memory one of our members recorded, in her own voice:

01
Write a story in a session — or revisit one you've already told.
02
Open it in your archive and tap "Record this story".
03
Your family hears you tell it, in your own voice, forever.
How it works
Easier than a
phone call.
I
You talk, we listen
Longafter asks you a real question, and you answer — out loud or in writing, whenever it suits you. No scripts, no prompts to game. Just honest conversation.
II
Your story takes shape
Each memory is saved and woven together. Over time, the people, places and moments of your life gather into something whole — a map of where you have been.
III
A life story to keep
When you are ready, we write your complete life story — a beautiful book to read, to print, and to share with the people who will treasure it.
Who it's for
For the ones with stories
worth keeping.
If the story is yours
You have lived a whole life — and the people who love you will one day wish they could ask you about it. Longafter helps you set it down now, gently, in your own words and your own time.
If the story is your parent's
Give them something better than another gift they don't need. Longafter is a way to capture your mother's or father's life while there is still time — a treasure for your whole family, and for the children who never got to meet them.
The story companion
"Tell me about the house you grew up in. Not the floor plan — what it felt like to be inside it."
Longafter doesn't ask for facts. It asks for feelings, for people, for the specific details that make a life. Questions nobody thinks to ask until it's too late. Delivered gently, one at a time, as a conversation.
Built for the people doing the remembering.
